School of Visual Communication Design

The School of Visual Communication Design, founded in 1984, consists of three disciplines: visual communication design, digital media art and packaging engineering. Currently, the School has 47 faculty members, including 7 professors, 20 associate professors and 13 lecturers. Theschool is proud of its profound educational strength, withthe distinguished position of "Taishan Scholar" in design art,which is included into the first batch of famous characteristic application-oriented universities supported by Shandong Provincial Department of Finance, and affirmed as the key and specially constructed discipline of Shandong Province, also the provincial and national characteristic discipline.

In recent years, the school has undertaken three national level research projects and three provincial Teaching Reforms of Higher Education. Four of its courses are among "The Best Courses" in Shandong province.

The school undertook a series of design service projects with significant social impact, including the visual system design of the 2018 SCO Qingdao Summit, the official poster design of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the overall image design of the 11th National Games, the image design of the 10th China Arts Festival, the overall visual image design of the 1st to 4th Shandong Cultural Industry Expo, and the color and visual system design of the Shandong regional development strategy theme exhibition hall.

In addition, the school has successively carried out cooperative exchanges and student visiting programs with dozens of universities and academic institutions in more than 10 countries and regions, including France, Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, South Korea, and Taiwan.
