Ingvill Gjerdrum Maus will discuss her PhD. thesis, which she defended at OsloMet – Oslo Metropolitan University in May 2020. Ingvill’s thesis is titled “Enhancing Design Literacy for Sustainability: Craft-based design for sustainability in lower secondary education in Norway.” In this thesis, Ingvill documented both possibilities and challenges of enhancing design literacy for sustainability among youth. She did this by conducting case studies composed of semi-structured group interviews and action research with students and teachers in the compulsory school subject Art and Craft in general education. In these case studies, she focused on the internationalised educational practice and the students’ expressed experienced learning when they reflected on design for sustainability principles and practices in the craft-based design products they made. Among the results are two models and the related analysis and discussions of the case studies, describing the possibilities and challenges involved. The article-based dissertation can be access on the OsloMet Skriftserien on this link:https://skriftserien.hioa.no/index.php/skriftserien/article/view/700
