Art Anthropology Institute

As a professional research unit of Shandong University of Art and Design, Art Anthropology Institute has established Chinese Art Anthropology Research Centre authorized by Chinese Folk Literature and Art Association.It has formed an innovation team about therevitalization of traditional crafts of Shandong Province, with Professor Robert Layton of Durham University, a well-known international art anthropologist and a member of the Royal Society, as honorary director, and organized National Expert Committee of Art Anthropology Research. Focusing on traditional crafts,the Institute carries out related research and field research, organizes theoretical research,academic exchanges and professional literature and image exhibitions, publishes academic journals and research results,and builds theory of Chinese art anthropology about traditional crafts,thus providing theoretical support for the protection, inheritance, innovation and development of traditional crafts.
